In October 1992, the first Il Caffè di Francesco opened its doors on Consell de Cent street, in Barcelona. The new Coffee Shop combined the traditions of coffee in northern Italy with those of Catalan cafes. A new concept, far beyond the aesthetic change, which represented a biographical break in the world of coffee in Barcelona.

Many years have gone by since 1992. Most of the cafes that opened following Il Caffè di Francesco new style have already gone out of business. On the other hand, Il Caffè di Francesco has now 7 cafes in Barcelona and one in Sabadell. Always serving good coffee, keeping it as the center of our offer.

Bitte! Wurst is part of the Nolla Group’s coffee shops and restaurants.

 

The history of Grup Nolla dates back to 1907, when the Bar Nolla was founded, located between El Clot and La Sagrera, at that time on the outskirts of Barcelona. Currently, and as a result of the group’s trajectory in recent years, it has a set of cafes, breweries and sausages fast-foods distributed in different parts of downtown Barcelona and Sabadell.

 

The expansion of the group began in 1952, when five more bars were opened in different metro stations in the city. Also, in 1973, the popular Cerveseria d’Or was inaugurated, which became one of the classic places to find a wide variety of beers and the best typical products of German cuisine, but always with a special Catalan touch.

 

New breweries and sausages fast foods were opened in 1981. The first Il Caffé di Francesco came in 1992. In the XXI century, sausage fast foods were united under the Bitte Wurst brand. The premises of the Arenas Shopping Center in Barcelona are a good example of this, as is the premises on Carrer Pau Claris, next to Plaça Urquinaona.

Bar Nolla was reborn in December 2014, with the intention of bringing fresh seafood closer to your dish. Every evening, we receive the best fish from the markets of south Catalonia and cook them on the grill to preserve all their flavor and properties. Our specialties include clams, mussels, razor clams, fried anchovies, octopus… All our products are freshly caught keeping the taste of sea and fresh fish of high quality.

 

2019 was the year of the first inauguration of cofeeshop outside the city of Barcelona, ​​the Caffè di Francesco in Sabadell, on Carrer de l’advocat Cirera, on the corner with Plaça de Sant Roc.

 

The 2020 pandemic puts the Nolla Group facing a future full of challenges, which, it hopes to overcome with effort, quality and, above all, adapting the service to the needs of its customers.

 

In 2021, Il Caffè di Francesco opens its E-Shop.
